This note first appeared in the 2.5.12 announcement, the last release 
announcement was 2.5.9 and did not have this note.

Very good, may I ask where: for the next annoucement or on the webpages?
I think Andrew's question is good, if the even odd logic is kept.
It helps to communicate to our users.

Of course a mature 2.5. series can be "production ready" and still not
"stable" in the sense that more features are planned.

Good to know!

(General remark: pre-releases can be used in production if the usage
is known and monitored closely. And the more usage a product revision or 
series sees, the better.)
