GnuPG doesn't see available Yubikey

What does it mean "end-of-life"? Debian is using 2.4.x everywhere

I searched for a source about 2.4.x being EOL and found this blog post (August 2025)

Unless I am mistaken, I don't see any 2.6.x in your releases, I see 2.5.x: are odd releases stable 
or is 2.5.x a development version?

Could this be the reason why Debian sticks to 2.4.x and doesn't upgrade to 2.5.x?
