GPG stores the password after encription?

Please upgrade. :( 2.4.7 is about two years old now.

The duration is user-configurable and is found in ~/.ssh/gpg-agent.conf.

Note: if you're using GNOME or some other graphical desktop, it may have
its own credential manager that's doing this. GnuPG has no control over
that.
