In gnutls 1.1.x in CVS, I have now reverted to using libtool
convenience libraries, rather than to build files from one directory
only.  It builds for me on sparc-sun-solaris2.9 with GCC 3.3.2 and the
Solaris linker.  If it won't work for you, I think we should debug
this as a Libtool problem.  Libtool is supposed to handle this, and I
haven't had problems with Libtool convenience libraries on any
platform before [with modern libtool versions].
