There has to be a way, if not to set a priority, a way to set a
compatibility mode that would use one of these priorities. If there is
a single way to start a session you'll have the issues you see with
broken servers, or if the compatibility strings are used by default
you'll have a low security level.

Setting a priority string is the only way.
