I must say haven't, but looking at the opendir implementation there I doubt it will work with wide characters (which we must use when compiling for UWP/WinRT platform), as the pattern is using regular ascii inputs, and `char` are used unconditionally.
Good to know about the Signed-Off part! I always assumed this to be for other people to use, but I get the idea :)
