Guile is in `/usr/bin/guile`, version 3.0.1. Note that I installed other things on my system since opening this ticket, including Guix, so perhaps it's not longer in the same state.

`ls /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkgconfig | grep guile` returns nothing
