About `closedir()` [there](https://gitlab.com/gnutls/gnutls/-/blob/master/lib/x509/verify-high2.c#L391) : it was already fixed in master branch by [a0616a06](https://gitlab.com/gnutls/gnutls/-/commit/a0616a06535dae5e3772567c3c6d87b31f1fdf74). So I prepared MR only with initial proposals
