<p dir="auto">For (1) you are right that if we update these functions we end-up in a convoluted scenario. Having a separate <code>_mem</code> and <code>_file</code> functions for raw public keys may be a better way to go.</p>
<p dir="auto">For (2), I think the tofu code gets a certificate and converts it to public key. It would need to handle a raw public key too (via a switch or so); it should be simple as the code already handles public keys. You can see verify-tofu and search for <code>GNUTLS_CRT_X509</code>.</p>
