<p dir="auto">Thank you for opening this. There are two reasons of these self tests:</p>
<ol dir="auto">
<li>FIPS140 requirements, which require them to run on application start-up (applies to FIPS-approved algorithms)</li>
<li>Ciphers which are not tested via nettle (e.g., bundled), and in that case they are run as part of the test suite.</li>
</ol>
<p dir="auto">So I think the minimum / necessary outcome for that is:</p>
