<p dir="auto">I'd avoid the stages for this. Initially we had the <code>make syntax-check</code> and other simple tests in a stage 0 but it caused many more delays than expected in the scenario where you had to wait long (an hour or two because free runners were taken) for the first runner, and by the time you got to stage 1, other projects had got the free runners.</p>
