<p dir="auto">So <code>pkg-config guile-2.2 --variable extensiondir</code> returns literally <code>$(GUILE_EXTENSION)</code>? Can you show your <code>guile-2.2.pc</code> file?</p>
<p dir="auto">The <code>guile-2.2.pc.in</code> template reads this:</p>

<p dir="auto">... so I don't understand how one can end up with <code>$(GUILE_EXTENSION)</code>.</p>
