<p dir="auto"><a href="https://gitlab.com/ahaase" data-user="1166014" data-reference-type="user" data-container="body" data-placement="top" data-html="true" class="gfm gfm-project_member js-user-link" title="Alexander Haase">@ahaase</a>, I think having <code>allocated</code> flag is the root of the problem, because <code>iov_store_*</code> functions are only used in the fallback path (in this case CCM, which I know is common in the Samba context though), and a buffer for serializing the iovs is always allocated because we nevertheless need to append an AEAD tag. I've filed <a href="https://gitlab.com/gnutls/gnutls/-/merge_requests/1278" data-original="!1278" data-link="false" data-link-reference="false" data-project="179611" data-merge-request="60790742" data-project-path="gnutls/gnutls" data-iid="1278" data-mr-title="crypto-api: always allocate memory when serializing iovec_t" data-reference-type="merge_request" data-container="body" data-placement="top" data-html="true" title="" class="gfm gfm-merge_request">!1278</a> to remove that flag. If you don't mind, we can consider this being superseded by that MR.</p>
