I will no longer participate in developing or releasing gnutls. My involvement in the last few weeks were quite stressful for me and that reinforced my conviction that I should move on, as I have opted for different challenges that do not leave time for me working on the project. I was very lucky to be working with and meeting very nice and interesting people through this project. I am very proud for the current development team -Daiki, Dmitry, Tim- and I wish you good luck! Please support them to this difficult and sometimes unappreciated task. I also wish to thank everyone who has contributed to the project over the years in any way. Thank you! I know infrastructure libraries don't tend to get a lot of attention, but I really appreciated having a clean and straightforward DTLS library to integrate into my projects. Best of luck to you with your new challenges! --Sean From ametzler at bebt.de Sun Apr 19 07:30:17 2020 From: ametzler at bebt.de (Andreas Metzler) Date: Sun, 19 Apr 2020 07:30:17 +0200 Subject: [gnutls-help] goodbye In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <20200419053017.GB1472@argenau.bebt.de> On 2020-04-17 Nikos Mavrogiannopoulos wrote: > Hi, > It has been a very long run for me on this project, facing diverse > challenges, and learning new things but I think it is time for me to > move on. However, when I ldd libgnutls.so searching for lazy references, I get: eric at machine:~/gnutls/gnutls/lib/.libs$ ldd -r libgnutls.so libsocket.so.1 => /lib/64/libsocket.so.1 libdl.so.1 => /lib/64/libdl.so.1 libgmp.so.10 => /usr/lib/64/libgmp.so.10 libintl.so.1 => /lib/64/libintl.so.1 libgen.so.1 => /lib/64/libgen.so.1 libc.so.1 => /lib/64/libc.so.1 libnsl.so.1 => /lib/64/libnsl.so.1 libmp.so.2 => /lib/64/libmp.so.2 libmd.so.1 => /lib/64/libmd.so.1 symbol not found: nettle_md5_update (./libgnutls.so) ... symbol not found: nettle_hmac_set_key (./libgnutls.so) symbol not found: nettle_hmac_digest (./libgnutls.so) libm.so.2 => /lib/64/libm.so.2 All symbols not found are provided by libnettle.so that is in build during the gnutls compilation process. When I compile another software which depends on libgnutls.so, I can add them using -L/blah/blah and -lnettle -lhogweed but I guess it is not the way it should work. And I cannot find why libnettle.so and libhogweed.so are not listed in the dynamic dependencies of libgnutls.so. Any idea? Many thanks & kind regards, eric
