GEAM already comes with a simple SMTP daemon and porting it to Windows is
trivial.
However, the real problem is that the syncronization issues between
a mailer and a proxy smtp, where the latter should do all the crypto
stuff is really hard. I once started to write one (IIRC, at least
the pop3 part did work) but gave up on this because it will be too
hard to get it right and if we eventually have a working thing it
a) won't be usable for the average user because it is not
intuitive to use.
b) opens that path to a lot of security problems which can easily be
expoited with social engineering methods
