I have not changed that becuase I recall that there used to be a lot
of trouble.  Given that I shifted my development from Sid to Woody
plus some newer tools I have not tested DB4.

Seems that I should add an max_automake_version=1.7.99 - that tool is
causing a lot of grief :-(

After all, including db2 and linking statically seems to be a better
idea.
