Thanks for all the replies everyone, it was very interesting and has
greatly increased my knowledge of TCP.

I'm a little busy at the moment with a report to be handed in at
University so I will not be able to test the new version till the
weekend. That is assuming I can get cvs working over my (what now
seems to be buggy) proxy server :-)

Has anyone been able to confirm and/or explain the behaviour I noticed
with the iobuffer seeming to not be flushed when shutdown was ommited?
