I can't tell for PALM,
but the file-handling on such a device is very diffrent.

A Cobalt RAQ2 has a 166 Mhz MIPS,
But the times on the Agenda are more than 3 times slower,
the creation of the output File on the Flash-File-System
costs, some flash need up to 5 ms per byte to store.
