public keyring analysis...

I appologize in advance for my rather simplistic question, but I havn't had
much exposure c.

I would like to analyze the data structure of the public key ring file for
incorporation into a Java application. Obviously I would like to extract
information for display purposes. 

Is there any documentation on how gnupg stores the data, or, if someone
could point out the c file that contains the file write information....that
would be great.
