Are you using an old version of gpg-agent or gpg?  For me (gpg 1.2.4,
gpg-agent 1.9.7) shows:

    You need a passphrase to unlock the secret key for user:
               "Werner Koch <wk at gnupg.org>"
 1024-bit DSA key, ID 010A57ED, created 2004-03-21 (main key ID 5B0358A2)

which happens to be identical to the message gpg prints on the
console.
