AFAICS, Sid's latest Automake version is 1.11.  In any case README.GIT
describes how to use an older autotools version.  For example:

   AUTOMAKE_SUFFIX=1.11 ./autogen.sh

Well, time to update the scripts/gpg-w32-dev/ speeo scripts to git and
tell people that they are also useful for Unix.

I fear that the changes to texinfo which - to what I know - made it
again real slow are enough of a reason to stay with the old texinfo for
now.  Eventually we need to add index creating and function name
templates to org-mode and switch the docs over to org-mode.
