Another datapoint:
in iX 5/2014 (page 83) they rate RSA 2048 only as "medium" secure
and recommend at least 4096 to be save.

Citing them:
"bei RSA. Wer sichergehen will, sollte auch hier mindestens 4096 Bit 
einsetzen."
