Hm, it didn't hang for me. But that assertion cut me off from my
ssh keys, which clearly is a degradation.
I'm running under workaround now,

I understand that notion :) But as gpg-agent is now part of my
ssh client setup (keys on smartcard rock!) it has become
"infrastructure" - that is, I'm more concerned about having
gpg and gpg-agent working at all; additional features are of
lower priority (even as there's always more cool stuff, of course).
