A little problem with german-umlaut.

Sorry, but I can't help you! But I can reproduce your observation 
although the value of the LANG variable doesn't seem to have an effect. 
I had to set LANGUAGE=german to get the german messages.

Typing "gpg --list-keys ingo" I get:

As you can see the umlauts 'ö' in the warning and 'ä' in the expiration 
note are displayed as '?'. OTOH the 'ö' in my user ids is displayed 
correctly. This is really strange.

I also tested 'gpg --help' with LANGUAGE=danish, LANGUAGE=spanish and 
LANGUAGE=french. All language specific special characters are displayed 
as '?'.

Finally I also tried 'wget --help' (with LANGUAGE=german) and made the 
same observation as with GnuPG.
OTOH 'rpm --help', 'a2ps --help', 'mutt --help' and 'grep --help' 
display the umlauts correctly (for all these programs there are .mo 
files in /usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES).

So some programs seem to work with gettext and others (including GnuPG) 
don't. Unfortunately I have no idea why.
