This thread has wandered a long way from the initial question I posted.

I am a long time PGP/GnuPG user and am fully aware of all the wrap-related
issues on several platforms, editors, and mailers (my third RSA key is over
5 years old). I know all the ins and outs of wrapping and mail client
interaction on Windows and Linux.

I have found that my preferred method of handling clearsigning with my
preferred tools would be simpler if I could change the default wrap column
used by GnuPG when texmode is specified in the options file. I believe this
setting is hardcoded somewhere in the approx 8MB of uncompresed source code
for GnuPG 1.05. I just need a pointer to where that setting is so I can
change it and recompile.
