I'm thinking of taking Win98 off my old Desktop Unit... work mostly
=66rom my Laptop now... and install one of the Linux Distributions. I'm
wondering if a P166 with a 2.1 GB HDD and 64 MB EDO RAM will do the
trick? I get the impression that some of the GUI's available can be
pretty demanding on video memory, and that computer only has a Matrox
Millenium with 2 MB WRAM.
As for Distributions, I'm thinking of Mandrake 8.1 although I will also
take a look at the Red Hat Distributions as well. I will be a complete
Linux newbie which is why I'm leaning toward Mandrake.
Any suggestions?
