List of GnuPG errors?

Is there a complete list anywhere of error messages for GnuPG, hopefully
with some brief explanation of their cause? I can't find anything specific
in the GnuPG docs. Specifically, I got the following error when trying to
decrypt a message that a customer sent to us:
> mpi too large (26628 bits)
> encrypted with 1024 bit ELG-E key, ID <...>, created 2002-05-21
> "(key name) (<email address>)"
> public key decryption failed: bad MPI
> decryption failed: secret key not available.

A search of the docs didn't come up with anything that would help me figure
out what went wrong. I had the customer resend it and it worked the second
time, but I'd really like to have an error message list that would help me
figure these things out in the future. Any suggestions? TIA
