Using --armor with non default algorithms

I am using the windows binary 1.0.6 release of GnuPG.

When I use one of the following options when 
encrypting [and signing], the --armor option doesn't
generate armored output...

--cipher-algo
--digest-algo
--textmode

Does anyone know if this is a bug or the expected
behavior?
