OT sha1sum.exe doesn't work in a batch fil

Hi,
I use batch-files with a shortcut in the Send-to folder to perform simple
tasks on Windows XP. It works OK to let gpg.exe display sha1 for a file,
but sha1sum.exe doesn't work. Why?

I tried:

sha1sum %1
pause
echo Hit any key to finish!
pause > nul
