It seems to be part of 1.6 too:

jas at mocca:~$ dpkg -S /usr/bin/guile-snarf
guile-1.6-dev: /usr/bin/guile-snarf

Thanks.  Perhaps a test for the feature that seems to break things here?
SCM_API, scm_t_bits, or whatever it might have been.
