I still think that there are package managers or users that build from git master. Stopping the build if libev is not available does more harm than good, IMO. I am currently making two patches against OSS-Fuzz for wget and wget2 due to this. And it takes a while to download and build the image as these projects build all their dependencies from git master. It's just a PITA for me. Next step is to create/push branches, create PR for OSS-Fuzz. There are more people involved and wasting their time. And if it turns out there is an error, the game goes into another iteration...
