Note that in QEMU, gnutls does not directly get to talk to the raw socket, instead it does I/O via a pair of function callbacks into QEMU's I/O layer. 

Also note that QEMU is getting support for another kernel networking feature MPTCP - multipath TCP, and I'm told that this is currently mutually exclusive with KTLS.

Thus gnutls won't be able to transparently turn on KTLS, without modification of QEMU, and in some scenarios it won't be able to use it at all.
