You could use `quay.io/podman/stable` instead; `buildah/buildah` turned to be unmaintained and too old. See nettle-build-images for [example](https://gitlab.com/gnutls/nettle-build-images/-/blob/main/.gitlab-ci.yml?ref_type=heads).
