Hi,

thanks to Werner Koch i was able to finally import my cert.
Here is what I did wrong for others to come...

I have my cert. exported from netscape in a *.p12 file.

This file contains my private key as well as my cert.

gpgsm requires the cert in one of the following formats:
DER, PEM or base64 encoded

so I had to first extract it from the pl12 file.

I used openssl:
openssl pkcs12 -nokeys -in ro_offermanns.p12 -clcerts -out ro_web_de.cert

After that I was able to import the cert using:
gpgsm --import ro_web_de.cert

Maybe this will help others with the same problems.

What are the remaining steps to send my first signed mail with kmail?

If I get there I promise I will write a HOWTO... ;)

Rolf
