I am confused. What is "a screen for the password", and what do you
quote above, is that the output to the terminal? If "screen for the
password" is a dialog entry in X11 or a popup dialog box on the text
terminal, then it seems the gpg-agent is indeed working and we have to look
for the problem elsewhere.
