I think you did a great work.  The explanation is much clearer now.  
This pushes us even more towards the decision of discontinuing the 
guide-xx.txt, review.txt, and ddts-faq.txt files.  I'd take this step as 
follow:

1. grisu changes ddts so that it sends a simple message, in place of the
guide, containing a link pointing to DDTP web site.

2. I put a note in guide-xx.txt, review.txt, and ddts-faq.txt files that 
warns translators that the files has been discontinued.

3. When a translator takes care of his translation regarding the text 
files, he will notice the warning and delete his translated file.

Maybe you could highlight the words "foo" and "bar" in the <pre> 
sections of pparts explanation.  I got a little be confused because I 
didn't notice that "foo" and "bar" were the only word that differ 
between example descriptions.

Only grisu has direct access to the site directory.
