Brian Warner requested this new feature, don't know whether a new
mailcrypt release supporting this is available.

AFAIK, mailcrypt parses the status output.
GnuPG's return codes are very limited and not so complex as the PGP 2
ones (remember pgp 2 is a DOS program and dos scripting is very
limited so you need to play with exit codes (the famous errorlevel
shell command)).
