Crypto is becoming a more important subject (OK, that wasn't so
difficult) at universities. At least in Germany. Not in the sense that
they did what I feel they are ("morally") obliged to – making sure that
most of their (at least math, CS and engineering) students learn it –
but more professors seem to consider that something important now.
Thus I guess it should be rather easy to throw some theses (rather not
in CS, though) at this question.
I know a German professor teaching in Belgium who has already offered a
kind of "Why don't the students attend to or organize Cryptoparties?"
thesis.
